Every day thousands of patients nationwide undergo an MRI Exam. But did you know that not all MRI machines have the same capabilities to accurately diagnose you? MRI technology is measured in magnet strength by units known as Tesla (T). The higher the Tesla units, the better the resolution and faster the exam. This is extremely important because the accuracy of your imaging results rely on this.
Up until recently, the highest strength MRI machine was 1.5 Tesla (T). However recent advancements have enabled as high as 3 Tesla. Companies such as Philips, GE, and Siemens have developed these new 3T MRI scanners but few outpatient centers have this level of technology, and are usually found at major diagnostic research and treatment facilities such as Mayo Clinic and Mt Sinai (NY) medical centers. We are proud to say that here at Unique Imaging, we have this technology in the form of all 3 manufacturers.

Why is 3T so important?
Think about it this way, if a picture is worth a thousand words, a 3T MRI is worth a million. The increased image clarity that can be seen with a 3T is very beneficial in accurately diagnosing many conditions.
Another important component of this equipment is the 3T Magnetom Trio, which makes the scans extremely efficient. This means shorter scan times which increases patient comfort allowing for an overall better experience.
Ultimately, our goal here at Unique Imaging is to provide the best possible patient outcomes. We know that to accomplish this, our board certified radiologists need to be able to differentiate between potentially dangerous medical conditions and benign findings. As a patient your health depends on this.
Remember, insurance coverage is not limited to the type of MRI equipment used. So, you should go to a center that has the best possible equipment and technology. We take great pride in being this center.
